Customary Council President Election Fails Due to High Number of Negative Votes – BRTK
The Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office has recently shared its opinion on the Parliament Speaker election. In a letter sent to the Parliament, it was clarified that Zorlu Töre could not be elected as the Speaker of the Parliament due to the fact that the number of ‘no’ votes exceeded the number of ‘yes’ votes.
Deputy Speaker of the Parliament, Fazilet Özdenefe, highlighted the stance of the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office and affirmed that based on this opinion, Zorlu Töre would not be able to assume the role of Speaker of the Parliament.
