“Cypriot Culinary Journey: Preserving Tradition and Embracing the Future” – Official Book Launch by BRTK

A new book celebrating the rich culinary tradition of Cyprus has been launched under the auspices of the Presidency. Titled “Cyprus Cuisine from Tradition to the Future,” the book serves as an archive for Turkish Cypriot Culture and was unveiled at a special event in the Presidential garden.
Sibel Tatar, the wife of President Ersin Tatar, spoke at the launch and shared that the book was the result of 1 and a half years of work in collaboration with 3 gastronomy experts. The first edition of the book has been published in Turkish and English, with plans for a second edition to be available in all bookstores soon.
Describing the book as a significant effort, Sibel Tatar announced that it is the first of the Presidential Culture Publications, with future publications on Cyprus Gates and Arks and Turkish Cypriot folk music to follow. She emphasized the importance of promoting and protecting Cypriot cuisine, advocating for more restaurants and hotels to showcase its rich flavors.
President Ersin Tatar also addressed the audience at the launch, highlighting the importance of preserving Turkish Cypriot culture and cuisine. He stressed the economic and social value of promoting Cypriot gastronomy and called for greater emphasis on teaching Cypriot culture in schools.
The event concluded with the presentation of plaques to those who contributed to the preparation of the book, as well as an English presentation and a lively folk dance performance by the Famagusta Folk Dance Association. The launch of “Cyprus Cuisine from Tradition to the Future” marks a significant milestone in celebrating and preserving the culinary heritage of Cyprus.
