Deadly Armed Attack in Montenegro Leaves Numerous Casualties
At least 7 people have tragically lost their lives in a horrific attack in Montenegro, as reported by the local media. The attack, carried out by an armed assailant, first targeted a restaurant and then a house, resulting in numerous injuries.
Adding to the devastation, an attack in the United States has also taken a toll on innocent lives. In New Orleans, a vehicle deliberately plowed into a crowd on Bourbon Street, leading to the deaths of 10 individuals and leaving at least 35 others wounded. Louisiana State Governor Jeff Landry condemned the act as a “terrible act of violence” and called for prayers for the victims.
Acknowledging the incident as a terrorist attack, New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell confirmed that an investigation was underway. The suspect behind the New Orleans vehicle attack was identified as 42-year-old US citizen Shamsud Din Jabbar.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) issued a written statement regarding the attack, revealing that the perpetrator had used a rented pickup truck in the assault. The presence of a DAESH flag in the attacker’s vehicle raised concerns, with authorities seizing weapons and homemade explosives from the scene.
Efforts were underway to determine the functionality of the explosives, with plans for neutralization if deemed necessary. The FBI and its partners were actively involved in the investigation to uncover the motives behind the heinous attacks in both Montenegro and the United States.
