Deadly Chain Traffic Accident in Gaziantep: 1 Fatality, 19 Injured
A tragic chain traffic accident occurred on the Tarsus-Adana-Gaziantep (Tag) motorway near Nurdağı, involving a passenger bus, a truck, and a car. The aftermath of the accident was devastating, as both the truck and the car caught fire.
Emergency response teams, including police, gendarmerie, health, and fire brigade, rushed to the scene to assist. It took the teams approximately 1 hour to extinguish the flames. Unfortunately, 19 individuals were injured in the crash and were promptly transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Tragically, one of the victims, bus assistant Veysel Feyda (37), lost his life despite efforts to save him at the Nurdağı State Hospital. Nurdağı Governor Nurullah Cemil Erciyas also arrived at the scene to gather information from the authorities.
In light of the cold weather, many bus passengers were escorted to the Nurdağı District Gendarmerie Command for shelter. Additionally, the Adana-Nurdağı direction of the Tag motorway had to be closed for approximately 2 hours due to the accident.
