Death of Lisbon Ambassador Murat Karagöz
Turkey’s Ambassador to Lisbon, Murat Karagöz, tragically passed away while on holiday in the Fethiye district of Muğla. The incident occurred when Ambassador Karagöz decided to take a swim in the beautiful waters near Faralya Bay in Ölüdeniz Neighborhood.
As he enjoyed his time in the sea, it is said that Ambassador Karagöz suddenly suffered a heart attack. His friends, who were present and noticed his motionlessness on the water’s surface, quickly alerted the emergency health services by dialing 112. With great concern, they managed to bring the unconscious ambassador back to the shore.
Upon arrival, motorized medical teams immediately initiated cardiac massage to resuscitate Ambassador Karagöz. Realizing the severity of the situation, they urgently transported him to a private hospital in Fethiye via ambulance. Despite all the efforts and medical interventions, it was devastatingly announced that Ambassador Karagöz could not be saved and had passed away at the hospital.
This sudden and tragic incident has left the diplomatic community and Turkey in mourning. Ambassador Karagöz served his country with dedication and professionalism, representing Turkey in Lisbon.
