Death toll rises: 7 babies freeze to death in Gaza
Amidst Israeli attacks, cold weather and lack of shelter in Gaza have resulted in the tragic deaths of newborns. According to a statement released on UNRWA’s official account, it was reported that the harsh conditions in Gaza have led to the deaths of at least 7 babies due to freezing temperatures.
The statement highlighted that a staggering 7,700 babies in Gaza are currently lacking the necessary care needed to ensure their survival. The World Health Organization (WHO) also condemned the Israeli army’s attacks, specifically citing the closure of Kemal Advan Hospital and the detrimental effects it has had on the local population.
Furthermore, the statement revealed that Kemal Advan Hospital has been targeted by the Israeli army on multiple occasions, with over 50 attacks recorded since October 2024. The call for the release of Kemal Advan Hospital Director, Husam Abu Safiye, was also made in the statement.
The situation in Gaza remains dire, with innocent lives at risk due to the ongoing conflict and harsh living conditions. The international community has been urged to intervene and provide much-needed assistance to the people of Gaza to prevent further loss of life.
