Minister Koca provides update on tragic fire incident in Diyarbakır and Mardin
Minister Koca took to his social media account to share a heartbreaking update on the recent fire incident that occurred in the nearby villages and neighborhoods of Diyarbakır and Mardin. He revealed that the death toll has tragically risen to 12, with 78 people being affected by the devastating fire.
Expressing his condolences to the families of the deceased and wishing a speedy recovery to the injured, Minister Koca stated, “We are currently treating and monitoring 5 patients, with 3 individuals in critical condition requiring intubation in Diyarbakır.”
The fire, which initially started as a stubble and cover fire in Köksalan Neighborhood in Diyarbakır’s Çınar district, quickly spread to neighboring areas such as Yazçiçi, Bağrık, and Ağaçsever due to strong winds. The blaze then progressed towards Yücebağ, Şenyuva, and Yetkinler neighborhoods in Mardin’s Mazıdağı district before finally being contained through the combined efforts of emergency teams and local citizens.
A total of 78 individuals were impacted by the fire, resulting in the tragic loss of 12 lives. The authorities continue to investigate the cause of the fire and provide support to those affected by this devastating incident.
