Deception Unveiled: The Empty Office Warehouse
A counterfeit product warehouse was discovered during a search conducted at an unlicensed cargo office in Avcılar, Istanbul. The office was found to be stocked with a large quantity of fake medicines, bags, shoes, and perfumes, all of which were confiscated by authorities. Two foreign nationals who were present at the workplace during the inspection were unable to provide the necessary documents, leading to their detention in connection with the incident.
Avcılar Municipality Police Department teams embarked on the investigation after inspecting the unlicensed cargo office located on the second floor of a business center on Marmara Street. The discovery of packaged products from renowned brands caught the attention of the officers, prompting them to inform the Avcılar Police Department.
Subsequently, with permission from the prosecutor’s office, a thorough search of the premises was conducted. The search yielded a significant amount of paste, numerous unpackaged tablet drugs, chocolates with explicit content, 25 bags and wallets bearing famous brand names, 20 pairs of branded shoes, and perfumes from recognized labels. Additionally, sensitive scales, packaging machinery, perfume caps, labels, and boxes were also found in the office.
The confiscated items were meticulously logged, and the workplace was sealed by municipal officials. An investigation has been launched into the two suspects who were taken into custody in connection with the illicit operation. Authorities are working to determine the extent of the counterfeit product operation and bring those responsible to justice.
