Ministry of National Defense reports cargo ship found at 51-meter depth
The Ministry of National Defense has announced that a cargo ship has been detected at a depth of 51 meters in the Gulf of Izmit. The ministry stated that the Naval Forces have assigned a Maritime Patrol Aircraft for search and rescue operations, and the research ship TCG ÇUBUKLU and mine hunting ship TCG AYVALIK have been mobilized to the region.
In addition to these efforts, the search and rescue ship TCG AKIN from the Black Sea is also en route to provide support in the region. The statement emphasized the standing readiness of one Seahawk helicopter at Çanakkale Naval Air Base Command and one AS532 type helicopter at Eskişehir 1st Main Jet Base Command to move to the region as needed.
