
Deputy FM Magyar travels to Florida to discuss future plans with Trump administration

State Secretary Levente Magyar of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade has initiated discussions in Florida aimed at bolstering economic relations between Hungary and the United States, building upon the positive relations with the incoming US administration.
In a statement released on Friday, Magyar emphasized the strong ties between Hungary and the Trump administration that could pave the way for new opportunities in economic cooperation. He highlighted that through these discussions, new products and services could be introduced in Hungary, benefiting the overall economy.
During his visit, Magyar met with investor Péterffy Tamás among others. The discussions are seen as crucial in further solidifying the economic partnership between the two countries.
In other news, the Prime Minister’s political director, Balázs Orbán, has declared that 2025 will mark the beginning of a “new age of sovereignty.” Speaking at the Budapest Global Dialogue conference, Orbán stated that the old era of obsolete neoliberalism had come to an end in 2024, signaling a shift in the political landscape in both the EU and the US.
Orbán also touched upon the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, expressing hope for its resolution in the coming year. He noted the political momentum towards ending the conflict and emphasized the importance of finding a path to peace.
