Deputy Minister Dr. Batuhan Mumcu Highlights Success in Turkey’s Cultural and Arts Scene
In a recent statement, Deputy Minister Dr. Batuhan Mumcu praised the remarkable progress made in the field of culture and arts in Turkey. He credited the success to the comprehensive reforms and innovative projects implemented under the “Turkey Century” vision of President and the leadership of Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy.
Reflecting on the achievements of 2024, Dr. Mumcu highlighted the increased accessibility of art to the public and the diverse range of events and activities that took place throughout the year. From classical to contemporary works, the performing arts scene in Turkey saw a surge in creativity and engagement, with a rich repertoire that catered to a wide audience.
One of the notable achievements was the hosting of 2,575 events in various art forms such as operas, ballets, theaters, concerts, cinema sessions, workshops, exhibitions, and festivals in Istanbul. These events drew a total of 672,042 viewers, showcasing the vibrant cultural landscape of the city.
Similarly, in CSO Ada Ankara, the capital’s cultural and art island, a total of 187,714 viewers attended 340 concerts and events featuring world-renowned orchestras and performers. From classical ensembles to contemporary musicians, the lineup was diverse and captivating, providing a platform for both established and emerging artists.
Dr. Mumcu also emphasized the importance of engaging younger generations in the arts through workshops, educational programs, and children’s activities. By nurturing a new audience and involving children in the creative process, the cultural and arts sector in Turkey is ensuring a bright future for the next generation.
