Deputy Prime Minister and DP Leader Ataoğlu Reflects on 2024: “Our efforts continue with the goal of contributing to the economy in 2025 and providing a better life for society.”
Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment, and Leader of the Democratic Party (DP) Fikri Ataoğlu stated that his ministry’s work and projects are aimed at contributing to the economy and providing a better life for the society in 2025.
Ataoğlu expressed his belief that the projects they are carrying out will be completed in 2025 and that 2025 will not only be a year focused on tourism but will also open the doors to better days in all aspects of life.
He wished for the year 2025 to bring health, happiness, and brotherhood to humanity, society, and the Turkish world.
Referring to the difficulties experienced in 2024, Ataoğlu expressed his hope that they will not be repeated in the coming year. He emphasized that they closely follow the case of the “Champion Angels” who lost their lives in the earthquake disaster in the Republic of Turkey in 2023 and will continue to do so.
Ataoğlu pointed out that the outcome of the case will set a precedent and highlighted the serious efforts his ministry has made in earthquake-related issues.
Reflecting on the year 2024, Ataoğlu evaluated the year and expressed his hopes for a prosperous year ahead.
Regarding the renovations at Girne Ancient Harbor, Ataoğlu mentioned the completion of the project in 2024, enhancing the appearance of the harbor in Girne and the broader North Cyprus Turkish Republic.
Ataoğlu also highlighted the efforts put into the restoration of the Founder President Rauf Raif Denktaş’s Mausoleum and the plans for completing the final stages of the Mausoleum project.
Discussing the ongoing projects in various fields such as tourism, culture, and the environment, Ataoğlu provided insights into the developments in key areas like the tourism master plan, Airbnb regulations, and initiatives to promote sustainable practices.
He also shed light on plans for new infrastructure projects, such as the construction of a new OTEM building and the revitalization of cultural centers like the AKM building.
Ataoğlu further emphasized the focus on environmental conservation, waste management, and the promotion of sustainable practices in the region.
In his address, Ataoğlu articulated his vision for 2025, emphasizing the importance of sustainable development, economic growth, and social welfare in line with the ministry’s goals.
He concluded his remarks by extending New Year wishes for health, happiness, unity, and prosperity to all members of society and the Turkish world.
