Devastating Flooding Hits Giresun: Homes and Businesses Submerged

Heavy Rainfall Causes Damage in Giresun
The city of Giresun experienced heavy rainfall recently, leading to various incidents across different areas. In the Halaçlı village of the Tirebolu district, a section of a two-story house collapsed due to the rain. Fortunately, there was no one inside the house at the time of the collapse, avoiding any potential injuries.
In the Odadüzü area of the Central Neighborhood in the Espiye district, as well as on Cevdet Sunay Street, houses and workplaces were flooded. Municipality teams are working tirelessly to drain the water and minimize the impact of the flooding.
The Tirebolu-Doğankent highway had to be closed to traffic due to landslides caused by the heavy rain. However, traffic flow has now been restored to a single lane from the Doğankent direction, allowing vehicles to pass through with caution.
Furthermore, along the Black Sea Coastal Road between the Keşap and Espiye districts, trees fell onto the road due to the strong winds and rain. Highway crews are actively removing the fallen trees to ensure the safety of motorists traveling through the area.
The heavy rainfall in Giresun has caused significant damage, but authorities and emergency teams are working diligently to address the issues and minimize the impact on residents. Cooperation and support from the community are crucial during this time to ensure a swift recovery from the effects of the recent weather conditions.
