Devoted father murdered while walking disabled son

A tragic incident unfolded yesterday in Dumlupınar District, Gözdağı Street, as a simple argument between two individuals escalated into a violent confrontation resulting in the death of one man. The altercation began when Turan Yılmaz, accompanied by his wife and son, got into a dispute with a motorcycle courier named YS over traffic right of way.
Eyewitnesses reported that the argument quickly turned physical, with Yılmaz attempting to attack YS with a stick from his vehicle. The situation took a deadly turn when YS’s brother, identified as AS, arrived at the scene and stabbed Yılmaz in the neck before fleeing.
Emergency services and law enforcement were promptly contacted, but despite their efforts, Yılmaz succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. His body was later transported to the Forensic Medicine Institute for further examination.
Following the incident, YS was taken into custody for questioning, while AS was apprehended in Sultanbeyli thanks to the diligent work of law enforcement officials. The entire sequence of events was captured by the security cameras of a nearby establishment, documenting the tragic escalation of violence.
Speaking on behalf of the victim, Turan Yılmaz’s relative Erdoğan Yürekçi shed light on the circumstances leading up to the fatal confrontation. Yürekçi revealed that Yılmaz, a devoted father to a disabled child, was simply out for a walk with his son when the altercation with the motorcycle courier occurred. The tense exchange of words quickly devolved into a physical altercation, culminating in the fatal stabbing.
Yürekçi lamented the loss of his loved one and expressed concern for the future well-being of Yılmaz’s disabled child, now left without a father to care for him. The tragic incident serves as a sobering reminder of the devastating consequences of unchecked violence and conflict in society.
