DHA receives 2 awards from Trabzon Journalists Association
The Trabzon Journalists Association recently held its award ceremony for the ‘Successful Journalists of the Year 2023 Competition’. The event took place in the garden of a restaurant in the city, where winners were honored for their outstanding work. Among the 39 works evaluated by the jury, Selçuk Başar from Demirören News Agency (DHA) Trabzon Bureau won in the ‘News’ category with his piece titled ‘He saved 188 lives for his dead friend’. Nurgül Günaydın was also recognized for her ‘sports photography’ entry titled ‘Onuachu shoots, Trabzonspor wins’. Both individuals received their awards from esteemed guests, including Trabzon Provincial Director of Health Dr. Hakan Usta and former İYİ Party Trabzon deputy Hüseyin Örs.
In addition to these awards, Metropolitan Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç was presented with a special jury award for his contribution to bringing the Press Museum to Trabzon. Recognitions were also given to journalists who have dedicated 20 years to the profession.
Furthermore, Trabzon Governor Aziz Yıldırım awarded the “Ziyad Nemli Grand Award” to İhsan Öksüz in honor of his longstanding service to the Trabzon press. The ceremony was a celebration of excellence in journalism and a testament to the hard work and dedication of those in the field.
