Dicle Canova reveals Kılıçdaroğlu’s resignation acceptance today in new lobbying update
All eyes are on the CHP (The Republican People’s Party) following the May 28 Presidential second round election. CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu met with İBB President Ekrem İmamoğlu on Thursday and accepted the resignations of VQA members at the MYK (Central Executive Committee) meeting on Friday. However, no immediate re-appointment for the FMC (Party Assembly) was announced. Kılıçdaroğlu is expected to make a decision this weekend after listening to general evaluations at the FMC weekend party assembly, criticisms, and suggestions. He will then announce his new MYK and roadmap on Monday. Three options for the conference are currently being considered: calling for an extraordinary congress within 45 days, accelerating the ordinary congress process, or letting the process run its course, which could take up to eight or nine months. Kılıçdaroğlu is expected to make a decision after evaluating the party’s general feedback. İmamoğlu may be seeking to serve another term as the chairman of the İBB and may run for the next presidential election, which may re-establish an alliance with the IYI (Good) Party in the local elections.
