Minister of Health Dr. Hakan Dinçyürek’s Message on the Anniversary of July 15 Coup Attempt and the 50th Anniversary of the Greek Coup in Cyprus
Minister of Health Dr. Hakan Dinçyürek recently shared a message on the 8th anniversary of the July 15 coup attempt in Turkey and the 50th anniversary of the coup carried out by the Greek Junta in Cyprus.
In his statement, Minister Dinçyürek highlighted the significance of these events, stating, “Today, as we commemorate the 8th anniversary of the treacherous coup attempt in Turkey, we also remember another important event that has a deep meaning for the Turkish Cypriot people and will never be forgotten. July 15th marks the 50th anniversary of the Greek coup in Cyprus.”
Reflecting on the heroic resistance of the Turkish nation on July 15, 2016, Minister Dinçyürek emphasized the unity and determination displayed by the people in defending democracy and national will. He praised the courage of every individual who stood up against the coup plotters, reaffirming their loyalty to their country and flag.
The Minister also highlighted the historical significance of the Greek Junta’s coup in Cyprus 50 years ago, underscoring the Turkish Cypriot people’s unwavering struggle for independence and freedom. He acknowledged the intervention of the Republic of Turkey on July 20, 1974, which ultimately led to the Turkish Cypriot people gaining their independence.
On this day of remembrance, Minister Dinçyürek reiterated his commitment to defending democracy and national will in both Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
