Dinçyürek Launches Oral and Dental Health Screening and Training Program
Oral and Dental Health Screening and Training to Begin in Nicosia Primary Schools
Minister of Health Dr. Hakan Dinçyürek has announced that oral and dental health screening and training, which began last year under the Primary Health Care Department of the Ministry of Health, will commence in primary schools in the Nicosia region on Monday, December 4th this year.
According to Dinçyürek, 2nd grade students will be examined by dentists in schools using the mobile service vehicle of the Ministry of Health’s Primary Health Care Department. Alongside the examinations, children will also receive training in tooth brushing and nutrition for dental health.
Last year, approximately 1500 students were screened, and this year, the oral and dental screening is planned to be completed for a larger group of students. The screenings will kick off at Balıkesir-Meriç Merkez Primary School, Cigangir-Düzova Primary School, and Değirmenlik Primary School on Monday, December 4th.
Dinçyürek highlighted the importance of these screening studies, emphasizing that our children are the future and that ensuring their oral and dental health is crucial. The ministry’s initiative aims to promote good dental habits and educate students on the importance of oral hygiene and nutrition.
This proactive approach to oral and dental health in primary schools is a commendable step towards proactive and preventive healthcare, setting a positive example for children and their families.
