Minister of National Education Chairs Higher Education Advisory Board Meeting
At a recent Higher Education Advisory Board meeting chaired by Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu, crucial issues surrounding higher education were thoroughly discussed.
The Ministry provided information that Minister Çavuşoğlu led the Higher Education Advisory Board meeting, where various problems in higher education were highlighted and addressed. The meeting, which took place at the Ministry, was attended by key figures such as Higher Education Planning, Supervision, Accreditation and Coordination Board (YÖDAK) President Prof. Dr. Aykut Hocanın, YÖDAK members, Cyprus Universities Association President Prof. Dr. Asım Vehbi, university rectors in TRNC, representatives from various ministries, PGM Immigration Director Chief Inspector Fevzi Öztümen, Ministry of National Education Higher Education and Foreign Relations Department Director Behçet Çelebi, and other officials.
Minister Çavuşoğlu emphasized the significance of organizing such a comprehensive meeting for the first time, stating, “Our goal is to minimize all issues and elevate our Higher Education sector to higher standards. By bringing together members of YÖDAK, the Cyprus Universities Association, university rectors, and representatives from various institutions, we aim to tackle the challenges we are facing in higher education one by one.”
In his address before the meeting, Minister Çavuşoğlu reiterated the importance of creating a better education system and resolving the issues encountered by students studying in the country. He emphasized the collaborative effort needed to enhance the quality of education and training, involving all relevant departments of the state.
The Minister further stated, “We are gathered here to share and address the problems experienced in the education sector. Today, each participant will have the opportunity to voice their concerns, and collectively, we will work towards finding effective solutions. Our objective is to overcome obstacles, enhance the education system, and provide a conducive learning environment for our students.”
Overall, the meeting served as a platform for open discussions, exchange of ideas, and collaborative problem-solving to improve the higher education landscape in the country.
