DMM denies allegations of ‘community foundations’ involvement
DMM Denies Claims of Resources Transferred to Sects and Community Foundations
In a recent statement by DMM, it was revealed that the claims regarding the allocation of funds to sects and community foundations were false. The Ministry of National Education’s Institutional Financial Situation and Expectations Report, which was released in July, showed that an allowance of 5 billion 895 million 926 thousand liras was allocated for “transfers to non-profit organizations”. However, DMM clarified that this amount was not transferred to sects or community foundations as claimed.
According to the statement, there is no protocol in place for the transfer of resources to non-governmental organizations. Out of the total amount allocated, only a fraction is designated for specific purposes. For example, 31 million 727 thousand liras are allocated for the International Education Cooperations and Overseas Education program, while 161 million 835 thousand liras will go towards Vocational Qualifications Institution dues payments. The majority of the funds, 5 billion 702 million liras, will be used for lunch expenses of civil servants as part of the general support services activities.
It is important to note that only a small portion of the allocated funds have specific destinations, and the rest is used for various support services. DMM emphasized that claims suggesting otherwise are aimed at manipulating public opinion. The Ministry urged the public not to trust such misleading information.
