DMM Responds to Allegations about ‘Community Foundations’
In a recent statement by the Ministry of National Education, it was revealed that there have been misconceptions regarding the allocation of funds to non-profit organizations. The Ministry clarified that out of the 5 billion 895 million 926 thousand liras allocated, only a small portion was directed towards specific programs and activities.
It was emphasized that there have been false claims suggesting that resources were transferred to sects and community foundations, which the Ministry categorically denied. The Ministry stated that there were no such transfers made through any protocols signed with NGOs.
It was further explained that a significant portion of the allocated funds was designated for important purposes such as the International Education Cooperations and Overseas Education program, Vocational Qualifications Institution dues payments, and lunch expenses of civil servants. The Ministry also highlighted that a portion of the funds was allocated to support activities of the General Directorate of Turkish Maarif Foundation.
In conclusion, the Ministry urged the public not to trust claims aimed at manipulating public opinion and assured that the allocated funds are being used for legitimate and necessary purposes.
