Student Injured After Being Attacked by Stray Dogs in Turkey
On Friday, June 9, in the Umuttepe locality of the Izmit district, a 19-year-old student of Radio and Television Cinema, Lokman Emre Yurtsever was attacked by stray dogs. According to reports, Yurtsever tried to escape the dogs by climbing onto a retaining wall but ultimately jumped off a 3-meter high wall hitting his head on concrete.
The severely injured young man was taken to Kocaeli University Research and Application Hospital and was admitted to the intensive care unit for three days. However, as of today, Yurtsever has regained consciousness and will reportedly be moved to the neurosurgery division.
This incident has raised concerns about the safety of the public, especially students who may have to take great lengths to avoid stray dogs. Local authorities have not yet commented on the incident as of writing.
