Driver Detained After Serious Motorcycle Accident in Çavuşbaşı District
A serious accident occurred on the evening of October 29 in Çavuşbaşı District, Cumhuriyet Street. The incident involved Driver Tolga Duva and motorcyclist Fatih Terzi. According to reports, Duva crashed into Terzi’s motorcycle while overtaking on the street. The impact of the accident caused Terzi to be thrown from his motorcycle and dragged on the ground, resulting in severe injuries. Duva was immediately detained by the police.
Fatih Terzi was quickly transported to the hospital by ambulance, where he is currently receiving intensive care due to the life-threatening nature of his injuries. Unfortunately, doctors were forced to amputate his left leg below the knee. In a disturbing turn of events, a post made by Hakan D., who was in Duva’s car, on a social media application raised concerns. The post read, “Even when I was drunk and saw everything as two, you were the same one.” This led to suspicions about Duva’s state of mind during the accident.
Meanwhile, the family of Fatih Terzi expressed their discontent over the release of Tolga Duva after being detained. They claim that the other party attempted to delete the surrounding security camera footage and threatened witnesses who saw the accident. The family insists on justice and demands that both their rights and the victim’s rights be protected by the state.
Lütfi Terzi, the father of Fatih Terzi, stated that the accident occurred in a location where overtaking is prohibited, and Duva was driving at a speed of 150-180 kilometers per hour. He also revealed that Duva was found to have a blood alcohol level of 3.22 promil at the police station. Moreover, hair and blood samples were taken to test for possible drug use.
Deniz Terzi, Fatih’s brother, shared heartbreaking details about his sibling’s condition. He explained that Fatih, who had a newborn baby, was on his way to celebrate a special occasion before the accident. Deniz described the injuries his brother sustained, including fractures in his head despite wearing a helmet. Deniz expressed his anger and disbelief at how the judge could release someone who caused such devastating harm.
Furthermore, the Terzi family claims that the other party involved in the accident contacted witnesses and threatened them, even trying to delete the camera footage from the scene. They have vowed to report these actions to their lawyers and ensure that justice prevails.
