
Driver’s License Confiscated

The Istanbul Gendarmerie Command recently took action against a driver who was caught speeding at 110 kilometers per hour near the Hüseyinli toll booths. The driver, identified as M.Ö., had recorded the incident on their mobile phone camera and shared it on social media.
As a result of their reckless behavior, M.Ö. was taken into custody and fined 6,320 Turkish Liras for violating the Highways Traffic Law. The charges included “Disrespectful Vehicle”, “not complying with traffic rules”, “obstructing traffic flow”, and “not maintaining a safe following distance”. In addition to the fine, M.Ö.’s driver’s license was confiscated for 4 months.
After the necessary legal procedures, the driver was released under judicial control measures pending further court action. The Istanbul Gendarmerie Command is working diligently to ensure the safety of all road users and prevent reckless driving behavior.
