Driving Turkey Towards Agricultural Excellence
Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz attends the “4th Agricultural Forestry Sustainable Life Workshop in the Rural Life Workshop” event along with Ibrahim Yumakli, the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works.
In his speech, Yumakli emphasized the importance of rural development for ensuring food supply security. He highlighted the critical nature of recent developments and commended those who did not give up on production during this challenging time.
Yumakli pointed out the country’s vulnerability in its geographic location and stressed the need to continue progressing towards goals without any complacency. He emphasized the importance of always looking forward and not losing sight of the objectives at hand.
The Vice President also mentioned the significant support provided to the economy, totaling 32.6 billion dollars annually. He noted the success of various projects in creating new employment opportunities and the country’s position among the top 10 agricultural revenue-generating countries in Europe.
Yumakli stated the goal of making Turkey a leading country in agriculture and stressed the importance of unified efforts and consultations among various stakeholders to achieve this objective.
The upcoming 4th Agricultural Forestry Council aims to assess agricultural policies from a dynamic and modern perspective, ensuring a safe path for the sector amidst the new normal. The workshops conducted will facilitate experience sharing among experts and stakeholders, contributing to the future of agriculture in Turkey.
The Council is scheduled to take place in April, with the Shura Final Declaration to be shared with the public in May by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Minister Yumakli highlighted the progress made by working groups in their online meetings and emphasized the importance of collective efforts in shaping the future of agriculture in Turkey.
