Drowning Emergency at Kumluk Beach, Silivri
In Silivri, a town located in Istanbul, the heat wave pushed the air temperature to a scorching 37 degrees. Despite the sweltering weather, residents flocked to Kumluk Beach in the Mimar Sinan neighborhood to cool off and enjoy the sea.
However, what was supposed to be a fun day at the beach turned into a terrifying ordeal when a person in the water found themselves in danger of drowning. Luckily, alert lifeguards sprang into action and quickly rushed to the aid of the struggling individual.
With precision and speed, two lifeguards swiftly reached the person in distress using a jet ski and managed to bring them safely back to shore. Thanks to their timely intervention, the young man was unharmed and his health condition was reported to be stable.
The heroic efforts of the lifeguards underscore the importance of their presence on the beach, especially during the summer months when the risk of drowning is heightened. The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality’s lifeguard teams at Kumluk Beach work tirelessly to ensure the safety of beachgoers and to respond promptly to any emergencies that may arise.
