Drug Addict Undergoes Detox in Detention Home
A drug addict named HK was detained by special operations teams after locking himself in his house in Esenler, Istanbul. HK’s family wanted him to seek treatment at AMATEM, but he refused and barricaded himself in his home. Fearing for his safety, his relatives contacted the police.
HK, who was on the 3rd floor of a 3-story building, showed a gun to the police teams who arrived at the scene, expressing his refusal to receive treatment. Police, fire brigade, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene to handle the situation.
Ultimately, Police Special Operations Teams broke down the door, detained HK, and handed him over to medical teams. It was reported that HK had slightly injured himself at home and would be referred to AMETEM after receiving treatment.
Following the operation, the relatives of HK experienced a nervous breakdown. The incident sheds light on the struggles that many families face when dealing with loved ones who are struggling with addiction.
