A traffic enforcement operation in Istanbul took a dangerous turn when a drunk driver, identified as Kerem B., lost control of his speeding jeep and collided with the car driven by Melike Çimen. The impact caused Çimen’s car to hit another jeep in front of her, resulting in injuries to Çimen.
Emergency medical teams rushed to the scene to provide first aid to Çimen before transporting her to the hospital for further treatment. Meanwhile, police officers conducted an alcohol test on Kerem B., revealing a blood alcohol level of 0.79 promil. The intoxicated driver was subsequently taken to the police station for questioning.
The accident caused a traffic jam on Cemil Topuzlu Street, but the congestion was relieved once the involved vehicles were removed from the scene. Authorities have since launched an investigation into the incident.
