Dual Citizens in Thrace Exercise Voting Rights in Bulgarian Elections
Dual citizens in Edirne, Kırklareli, and Tekirdağ are actively participating in the Bulgarian general election and the European Parliament (EP) elections by casting their votes at various polling locations.
In Edirne, dual citizens are voting at the Bulgarian Consulate General, 75. Yıl Primary School, and Keşan High School. Before casting their votes, officers are carefully checking citizens’ identity documents. Cevat Güneş, President of the Thrace Balkan Turks Culture and Solidarity Association, highlighted the importance of the elections and encouraged dual citizens to participate in the voting process to express their wishes and concerns.
In Kırklareli, voting is ongoing at the Anatolian High School of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye. Erol Ateş, President of the Kırklareli Balkan Turks Immigrants Solidarity Association, emphasized the significance of the elections for dual citizens living in both Bulgaria and Turkey. He expressed hope that the outcome of the elections would be beneficial for the dual citizen community.
Similarly, in Tekirdağ, dual citizens are casting their votes at 50. Yıl Secondary School. Kemal Öztürk, President of the Tekirdağ Bulgarian Immigrants Association, observed the high voter turnout and expressed his wishes for a successful election process.
