Durable Small E-Bus Successfully Completes Five-Week Test Drive

The GANZ-SOR EBN8, a Hungarian electric midibus prototype, recently underwent a successful test drive in Prague, Czech Republic. The vehicle had previously been tested in Baja, Hungary, where it covered 5,800 kilometers and transported around 8,000 passengers over a five-week period.
Developed by Hungarian engineers and former Ganz employees at GTKB Kft., the GANZ-SOR EBN8 proved to be a reliable and efficient mode of transportation. The test drive in Prague was part of a Hungarian-Czech collaboration that extended the trial period by two weeks due to the positive performance of the vehicle.
During the test period in Baja, passengers had the opportunity to experience the midibus on various routes and services. The vehicle operated smoothly without any incidents, impressing both passengers and operators. The domestically developed battery exceeded expectations, providing a sufficient range even in extreme weather conditions.
Bus drivers and passengers alike praised the vehicle’s engine power, dynamics, stability, maneuverability, and overall performance. The midibus, affectionately named “Picur” (Little one) by the drivers, received overwhelmingly positive feedback from passengers.
Based on the successful test results, minor adjustments will be made to the software settings before the vehicle is permanently deployed and series production begins. With a length of eight meters, a low-floor design, and 16 seats, the GANZ-SOR EBN8 is set to revolutionize public transportation with its eco-friendly electric drive system.
The collaboration between Hungarian and Czech companies has proven to be fruitful, bringing innovative and sustainable transportation solutions to European cities. The successful test drive in Prague marks a significant milestone in the journey towards environmentally friendly and efficient public transportation systems.
