Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya Provides Update on Earthquake Response Efforts

In the wake of the 5.9 magnitude earthquake that struck Malatya, Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya has provided an update on the ongoing response efforts. The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) and relevant institutions are conducting field scanning studies in the provinces of Malatya, Diyarbakır, Şanlıurfa, Elazığ, Batman, and Tunceli.

A total of 374 reports were received by the 112 Emergency Call Center, with 341 of these being information reports and 33 calls for help. Three buildings were partially collapsed as a result of the earthquake, with one each in Malatya, Şanlıurfa, and Elazığ. Fortunately, there have been no reports of loss of life or property damage.

Minister Yerlikaya expressed his best wishes to the citizens affected by the earthquake and emphasized the importance of protecting the country and its citizens from future disasters. The government remains committed to providing support and assistance to those in need during this challenging time.
