Ecrin, the Violinist, Shares Feelings with President Erdogan
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had a heartwarming encounter during his recent rally in Denizli, where he met 12-year-old violinist Ecrin Gülçin Polatlı. As President Erdoğan was greeting the public on Lise Street, he spotted Polatlı playing her violin on the side of the road and was so impressed that he asked his bus to stop.
The President invited Polatlı onto his bus and joined her in a musical session, where she played the songs Samanyolu and a Çanakkale folk song. The scene was filled with colorful moments as President Erdoğan accompanied the young student on his bus.
In a statement to the press, Polatlı shared her excitement about playing in front of the President, saying, “It was a very different feeling to play in front of him. My knees were shaking, but it was an incredible experience.” President Erdoğan even suggested that she learn to play the lute, expressing his admiration for her talent.
Polatlı, who expressed her gratitude to her teachers and the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality Children’s Choir, extended a special invitation to President Erdoğan to her brother’s wedding in August. She jokingly said, “I would love for the President to come to the wedding and accompany me on the violin.”
President Erdoğan’s spontaneous musical interaction with Ecrin Gülçin Polatlı not only brought joy to both of them but also highlighted the power of music to create meaningful connections. It was a moment that both the President and the young violinist will surely remember for a long time.
