Edirne 2nd Round Election Results to Be Announced Soon
The results of the Edirne 2nd Round Presidential Elections are hotly anticipated and will be announced soon. After the first round of presidential elections held on May 14, no candidate received the required 50 percent or more of the votes, leading to the second round of voting scheduled to take place on May 28th.
According to Ahmet Yener, Chairman of the Supreme Election Board, the final results of the first round have been announced, and none of the candidates was deemed eligible for election. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the People’s Alliance candidate, received 49.52 percent of the vote, followed by Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, the Nation Alliance candidate, with 44.88 percent. Sinan Ogan received 5.17 percent of the votes and Muharrem İnce only 0.43 percent.
In the first round, Erdoğan received 32.11 percent of the vote in Edirne, while Kılıçdaroğlu received 63.46 percent throughout the province.
Voting hours will run from 08:00 to 17:00, and voters do not need to bring their information sheets. The results of the vote will be published according to districts and provinces by the Supreme Election Board after the election ban is lifted.
The ballot box committee, comprising five representatives from political parties, will meet at the polling stations at 07:00. After the oath is read and the ballot boxes are sealed, the envelopes will be counted, and the ballot papers will be opened. Preparations will be completed between 07:00 and 08:00, and the voting process will start at 08:00 and last until 17:00. Anyone waiting in line will be allowed to vote after 17:00.
The results of the second round will be available on cnnturk.com’s election page 2023 once the polls are closed and the broadcast ban is lifted. The live election results will show the rates the candidates achieved in both rounds.
