
Ekrem İmamoğlu Successfully Completes Term as President of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality

Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, along with Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) President Ekrem İmamoğlu and 99 other suspects, are currently under investigation for various charges including being a part of a criminal organization, bribery, fraud, seizing personal data, and unlawfully conducting tenders. Additionally, there are allegations of assisting the PKK/KCK terrorist organization.
The prosecutor’s office has requested the arrest of Ekrem İmamoğlu for his involvement in establishing a criminal organization, corruption in tenders, bribery, and aiding a terrorist organization. Following the prosecutor’s statement, the case has been transferred to the criminal judge for further proceedings.
Ekrem İmamoğlu has responded to the interrogation with a two-hour defense. The decision regarding his arrest and the other suspects involved in the case is expected to be announced collectively once all interrogations are completed.
