“Election headed for a second round”
Sinan Ogan, the presidential candidate for the Ata Alliance, spoke to the media about the results of the General Elections for the President and the 28th Term of Parliament. Ogan stated that the elections seemed to be going to a second round, and that Turkish nationalists and Kemalists would play a significant role in determining the outcome. He added that his party would not publicly support any particular candidate at this stage, and would instead consult with representatives before making a decision.
Ogan also addressed allegations that his party was in talks regarding a possible bargain or alliance with other political parties. He clarified that the Ata Alliance had basic conditions that needed to be met for any collaboration to occur, including the immutability of the first four articles of the Constitution, the sending of 13 million asylum seekers, and the abandonment of the “interest cause inflation result” approach. He emphasized that his party was against terrorist organizations such as FETO, PKK and Hezbollah, and that they would not support any party that had ties with any of these organizations.
Finally, Ogan expressed his hope that the elections would benefit the nation and the country, and that his party’s stance would always be in favor of the people. He reiterated his party’s position against terrorism and its political extensions, stating that they should not be allowed in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
