Electricity outage at Kemal Advan Hospital in Gaza

Israel’s Attacks Target Kemal Advan Hospital in Gaza
Israel’s continued attacks in Gaza have taken a devastating toll on the Kemal Advan Hospital, with armed unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) targeting key infrastructure. The electricity generators and fuel tanks of the hospital were destroyed, leading to a complete cut-off of electricity.
Mervan al-Hams, Director of Gaza Strip Field Hospitals, expressed deep concern over the situation at Kemal Advan Hospital, noting that communication has been severed. He accused Israel of preventing patients from being evacuated, putting their lives in danger.
Hospital Director Husam Abu Safiyye reported that the attacks on the hospital have been relentless, with the obstetrics and newborn departments specifically targeted by the Israeli army. Despite reaching out to the international community for help, their calls have gone unanswered.
Kemal Advan Hospital, the largest facility in northern Gaza named after a Fatah Central Committee Member who was assassinated in 1973, served over 400 thousand people before the attacks. Despite being repeatedly targeted in the past, the dedicated medical staff continues to provide care to the community.
The ongoing onslaught in Gaza has resulted in the deaths of thousands of Palestinians, including many children and women, with tens of thousands more injured. Civilian infrastructure, including hospitals and schools, have also been deliberately targeted, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.
The international community is urged to intervene and ensure the protection of civilians and essential healthcare facilities like Kemal Advan Hospital in Gaza. The voices of those affected by the conflict must be heard, and urgent action is needed to end the violence and suffering in the region.
