Electricity Tariffs Increase by 6.78%

The Cyprus Turkish Electricity Authority (Kıb-Tek) has announced an increase in both single-time and 3-time tariffs by 6.78 percent, effective from January 1.

In a written statement released by Kıb-Tek, it was revealed that there would be a 6.78 percent increase in energy sales tariffs. This increase is applicable to all tariff types that were valid as of December 1, 2023. The new tariff fees will come into effect on January 1, 2024.

However, it was specified in the statement that there will be no increase in the “poor exemption” housing tariff and fixed fees.

As a result, the temporary current fee per kW for the single-time tariff will be increased from 7.7381 to 8.2627 TL. The residential tariff fee for usage between 0-250 kWh will increase from 2.6963 to 2.8791 TL, while the residential tariff fee for usage between 251-500 kWh will increase from 5.5625 to 5.9396 TL. Similarly, the residential tariff fee for usage between 501-750 kWh will be raised from 5.9810 to 6.3865 TL, and for usage between 751-1000 kWh, it will increase from 6.4831 to 6.9226 TL. Lastly, the residential tariff for usage over 1001 kWh will see an increase from 7.7383 to 8.2629 TL.
