Emergency Extended: Indonesia Volcano Eruption Continues
A volcanic eruption in the Ruang Volcano in northern Indonesia has led to the evacuation of 828 people from the region. The Indonesian National Disaster Center (BPBD) Spokesperson Abdul Muhari declared a “state of emergency” until April 29th following the explosion.
The ashes from the eruption have caused damage to communication networks in the surrounding area. Muhari also shared that the warning level of the volcano has been raised to three. He advised residents and tourists to be cautious and avoid entering the 4-kilometer area around the volcano.
