Emir of Qatar Welcomes Erdogan to Doha: A Pleasure to Host You
Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Sani, expressed his satisfaction with the visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to Qatar. In a statement posted on his social media account, Al Sani highlighted the importance of their economic cooperation in protecting the common interests of the Turkish and Qatari people. He described President Erdoğan as his dear brother and expressed his pleasure in hosting him in Doha.
During their meeting, Al Sani and President Erdoğan discussed various challenges facing the region and the world. They emphasized the significance of strengthening international solidarity to address these challenges effectively. Al Sani praised the strong relationship between Qatar and Turkey, which is rooted in brotherhood and solidarity. Furthermore, a joint statement was signed on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Turkey and Qatar. The statement celebrated the deepening partnership between the two countries and the continuous strengthening of bilateral cooperation. It mentioned the High Strategic Committee mechanism as concrete evidence of the strategic partnership between Qatar and Turkey. Nearly 100 documents aiming to improve bilateral cooperation in various sectors and fields have been signed through this mechanism.
The statement also highlighted the growth in economic and commercial cooperation between Turkey and Qatar in recent years. It expressed the desire to further advance these relations to serve the interests of both nations. The cultural, social, and religious ties that bind the two countries were also emphasized. Additionally, Turkey’s valuable contributions to the success of the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar were acknowledged.
Moreover, President Erdoğan presented the Turkish Automobile Joint Venture Group (TOGG) as a gift to Emir Al Sani during his visit. The Emir had the opportunity to drive the TOGG, which was later given to him as a gift.
