EMU Academic Staff Union Hosts Peace Panel for Sustainable Development
EMU Academic Staff Union recently organized a panel on Peace in honor of September 1st, World Peace Day. The event, titled “Peace-Justice and Strong Institutions” and “Quality Education”, aimed to discuss the importance of peace and sustainable development.
The panel, held at EMU Mustafa Afşin Hall, kicked off with an opening speech by Union President Ercan Hoşkara. Hoşkara highlighted the significance of peace in fostering strong institutions and promoting quality education.
Following the opening speech, distinguished panelists such as Prof. Dr. Ahmet Sözen, Dr. Okan Dağlı, Meltem Onurkan Samani, and Ulaş Gökçe delivered presentations on various topics related to peace. These included discussions on “Back Door Diplomacy in Resolving Conflicts”, “Civil Society Efforts for Peace”, “Searching for New Methods for Peace in Cyprus”, and “Global Power Conflicts and Peace”.
The panel served as a platform for thought-provoking discussions on peace-building efforts and strategies for resolving conflicts. The event showcased the commitment of EMU Academic Staff Union towards promoting peace, justice, and quality education within the community.
