EMU Budget Passed by Parliament with Majority Vote

The Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) 2025 Financial Year Budget Bill worth 6 Billion 572 Million 217 thousand TL has been approved by the majority vote at the General Assembly of the Republic Assembly.

Committee Chairperson, Resimye Eroğlu Canaltay, presented the report of the Economy, Finance, Budget, and Plan Committee on the bill.

Speaking on the bill, CTP Deputy Erkut Şahali expressed his concerns about the state of EMU and its future. He emphasized that EMU is a state university and that it is important for the university to be supported for the overall progress of higher education and the TRNC economy in Cyprus.

Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu also addressed the Assembly, highlighting the government’s efforts to support EMU in the past and the importance of efficient financial and administrative processes at the university.
