
“EMU Hosts Conference on Technology in Special Education”

Technology Supported Education in Special Education Conference Held at Eastern Mediterranean University
Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) recently organized a conference entitled “Technology Supported Education in Special Education” in honor of the Disability Week that took place between May 10th and May 16th. The event was organized by the Special Education Club at EMU and featured a presentation by Alperen Sağdıç, the Education Director of the Educational Foundation for Individuals with Autism.
During the conference, Sağdıç spoke about the use of technology in the education of individuals with autism, the effects of technology on learning, education with artificial intelligence, and future opportunities and challenges. The presentation was supported by visuals to better illustrate the points being made.
In her opening speech, İpek Kaleli Çiçek, a Faculty of Education Lecturer Specialist Psychologist and Special Education Club Advisor at EMU, explained that the conference was part of the celebration of Disability Week. The event was attended by students, faculty members, and professionals from various fields related to special education.
The conference succeeded in shedding light on the benefits of technology in special education and the various challenges that educators may face when incorporating it into their teaching methods. With the help of events such as this, it is hoped that more individuals will become aware of the potential that technology has in helping individuals with special needs reach their full potential.
