Energy Investment Forum in Riga, Latvia announced for 2023

The 16th international Caspian Energy Investment Forum Riga 2023 took place in Riga, Latvia, co-organized by Caspian Energy Club and the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The forum, held as part of the activities planned for the 100th anniversary of National Leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, aimed to develop bilateral economic relations between Latvia and Azerbaijan.

Representatives from relevant government agencies of Latvia and top managers of public and private companies participated in the forum. The main objectives of the event were to foster B2B networking on an international level, discuss the business climate in Latvia and Azerbaijan, and highlight opportunities for foreign entrepreneurs and investors.

In his opening speech, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Latvia Elnur Sultanov highlighted the increasing bilateral relationship development between Azerbaijan and Latvia. He mentioned the Joint Declaration on the establishment of strategic partnership signed by the two countries in 2017 and emphasized Latvia’s status as one of Azerbaijan’s strategic partners among EU member states.

Ambassador Sultanov also discussed Azerbaijan’s high-speed economic development and successful diversification of its economy. He expressed confidence that the Azerbaijani business delegation’s visit to Latvia would further enhance trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

Chairman of the Board and Group CEO of Caspian Energy Club, Telman Aliyev, expressed his gratitude to the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Latvia, Embassy of Latvia in Azerbaijan, and the management team of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He also mentioned that it was the third visit of the Caspian Energy Club delegation to Latvia.

During the forum, panel sessions were moderated by Chairman of the Board of Caspian Energy Türkiye Suleyman Majidli. Presentations were made by representatives from the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of Azerbaijan, the Latvian Investment and Development Agency, and other organizations.

The forum concluded with bilateral discussions between business representatives from Latvia and Azerbaijan, resulting in the signing of cooperation agreements. Similar forums have previously been held in Tbilisi, Prague, Istanbul, and Tashkent.

As part of their official visit, the Caspian Energy Club delegation also planned business tours to enterprises located in Riga, Jelgava, and Valmiera cities.

Caspian Energy Club, established in June 2002, is an international business networking platform with over 5,000 companies and organizations from 50 countries. Its main objective is to improve the investment and business climate in Azerbaijan and other countries where the Club operates, as well as to engage in B2G, B2B, and B2C dialogues.
