
England Fails to Fully Acknowledge Cyprus Truth – BRTK

President Ersin Tatar of Northern Cyprus met with United Kingdom’s Minister of State Stephen Doughty to discuss the Cyprus issue. Tatar emphasized the need for a two-state solution for a fair and sustainable resolution in Cyprus, criticizing Britain for not showing expected impartiality towards Turkish Cypriots.
During the meeting, President Tatar expressed the importance of the Turkish Cypriot side participating in the Geneva talks constructively. He reiterated the principles of sovereign equality and international equal status for the Turkish Cypriot people.
Tatar also highlighted the ongoing isolation and embargoes imposed on Turkish Cypriots and expressed disappointment in the lack of support from the UK. He criticized Britain’s deepening relations with Southern Cyprus, stating that it has contributed to the inequality in Cyprus.
President Tatar stressed that the two-state solution is the only viable option for a fair and sustainable resolution in Cyprus. He called on the UK to consider the realities of Cyprus and adjust its attitude accordingly.
