Hungary to Establish Sovereignty Protection Office Ahead of Elections
Hungary is gearing up to establish a new Sovereignty Protection Office before the upcoming local and European Parliament elections, with the primary task of ensuring transparency in the election process and pre-election campaign. Tamás Lánczi, who has been appointed to lead the new body, recently shared details about the office’s responsibilities on public television.
The main objective of the Sovereignty Protection Office will be to safeguard the country’s economic, cultural, communication, and political identity and independence. Lánczi emphasized that the office will not function as an authority with investigative or punitive powers, but rather as a platform for reporting and publicizing any violations or irregularities observed during the election period.
