Erdogan hints at positive developments in oil and gas under Berat Albayrak leadership
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has announced that new good news about natural gas and oil is imminent, citing Turkey’s 21-year focus on conducting seismic surveys and drills with all domestic and foreign countries. Speaking to A Haber, the President spoke about the discovery of the Martyr Teacher Aybüke Yalçın oil field near the Martyr Esma Çevik Field in Gabar, which will produce 100,000 barrels of oil per day and become the biggest discovery in Turkey’s history, Recep Tayyip Erdogan said. Turkey’s current domestic oil production is 80,000 barrels per day, and the new field will increase that by about 1.5 times. Erdogan also spoke of the need to protect citizens against exorbitant housing and rental prices and the government’s support for mass housing projects. Erdogan also discussed newly established Family and Youth Bank, saying a grace period and interest-free loans of up to TL150,000 would be available for newly married couples.
