Erdogan to monitor Ankara election results
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his wife, Emine Erdogan, cast their votes on Sunday morning at Saffet Cebi Secondary School, Istanbul. The couple greeted members of the public and shook hands with the ballot box officials before casting their votes in the classroom. Afterwards, Erdogan spoke to journalists and hoped for a smooth democratic process throughout the day. He also praised those voting in the earthquake zone, where people showed resilience and enthusiasm.
Following the voting, Erdogan headed to Ankara from Istanbul and will monitor the election from the Presidential Complex. He urged citizens to vote until the end of the day to demonstrate the strength of Turkish democracy, and congratulated all those responsible for managing the voting process.
