Istanbul Hosts Foreign Ministers for South Caucasus Regional Cooperation Platform Meeting
Istanbul recently welcomed several prominent guests as the Foreign Ministers of Russia, Iran, Armenia, and Azerbaijan arrived in the city to participate in the 3rd meeting of the South Caucasus Regional Cooperation Platform.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held meetings with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Ceyhun Bayramov, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Erakçi, and Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan at the Labor Office in Dolmabahçe.
During the discussions, the focus was on the permanent peace process in the South Caucasus, as well as regional and global issues. President Erdoğan emphasized Turkey’s commitment to the platform, which was established with the goal of resolving regional conflicts through dialogue.
In his remarks, President Erdoğan expressed satisfaction with the progress towards lasting peace in the South Caucasus region. He also highlighted the importance of implementing an arms embargo on Israel at the UN as a decisive measure to prevent further escalations.
The reception was held behind closed doors, with detailed discussions and agreements reached among the attending Foreign Ministers.
