President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Marks 100th Anniversary of the Republic and Republic Day
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has released a message recognizing the momentous milestone of the 100th anniversary of the Republic and October 29 Republic Day. In his message, Erdoğan acknowledges the significance of this turning point in Turkey’s history and pays tribute to the heroes who played instrumental roles in establishing the new state, particularly Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic.
Erdoğan emphasizes the ongoing efforts to strengthen the Republic and prepare it for the challenges and opportunities of the new century. He highlights the remarkable progress made in the past 22 years, with Turkey achieving successive victories and transforming into a dynamic nation. Eradicating long-standing neglect and deficiencies, Turkey has taken steps to elevate itself above contemporary civilization standards through strategic investments.
With the implementation of the Presidential Government System, Erdoğan states that the ideal of Gazi Mustafa Kemal, which sought full independence and unconditional sovereignty for the nation during the War of Independence, has been turned into reality. By removing the barriers between the state and the people, Turkey has embraced democracy and allowed its Republic to thrive.
Looking towards the future, Erdoğan’s vision is to make the second century of the Republic a period in which Turkey becomes a great and powerful nation on the world stage. The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including Chief of General Staff General Metin Gürak and force commanders, as well as ambassadors, foreign mission chiefs, and representatives of international organizations based in Ankara.
Emine Erdoğan, the wife of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, also expressed her pride and happiness on this historic occasion. She believes that the heroic spirit behind the establishment of the Republic will be preserved by future generations, ensuring that the Turkey Century continues to thrive.
Numan Kurtulmuş, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, expressed his respect and gratitude towards the founding heroes of the Republic, stating that Turkey has consistently strived to progress and achieve great goals since stepping foot on the Anatolian continent.

Devlet Bahçeli, leader of the MHP party, referred to the Republic of Turkey as the honor of the Turkish nation.
