President Recep Erdoğan’s Message at the 29th International Caspian Oil and Natural Gas Fair in Baku
President Recep Erdoğan sent a message to the opening of the 29th International Caspian Oil and Natural Gas Fair held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar read Erdoğan’s message, where he expressed his hopes for positive outcomes from the events organized within the Baku Energy Week.
Erdoğan emphasized the strong relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan, especially in the field of energy, which has benefited both countries and contributed to the energy security of the region and Europe. He mentioned the successful infrastructure investments such as the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipelines, as well as the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP), which have strengthened the cooperation between the two countries.
As a part of the Turkish world, Erdoğan highlighted the importance of cooperation among countries in various fields, including energy, politics, economy, security, and culture. He welcomed the upcoming summit of the Organization of Turkic States in Shusha, hosted by Azerbaijan, and the modernization of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, which plays a vital role in regional transportation.
Erdoğan also expressed Turkey’s commitment to enhancing cooperation in renewable energy, new technologies, and energy resource diversity with Azerbaijan. He mentioned ongoing projects such as the Nakhchivan and Iğdır-Nakhchivan Natural Gas Pipeline, aimed at promoting energy exports and stability in the South Caucasus region.
Additionally, Erdoğan noted Azerbaijan’s hosting of the 29th Conference of the Parties (COP 29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in 2024 and pledged Turkey’s support in the preparation process for the conference.
